The LE300 lithium expansion battery makes installation easier than ever before. The LE300 is simply connected to the positive and negative terminals of the existing 12V lead-acid or AGM battery. Unlike switching to pure lithium batteries, no change in charging technology is required. True plug & play makes it even easier and safer to expand lithium capacity to rediscover self-sufficiency and freedom of travel.

Intelligent BMS algorithms

The integrated BOS high-performance battery management system ensures the protection and balancing of the lithium cells and monitors the lead-acid battery. Standard lead-acid battery systems often fail within one to three years due to limited cycle life and sulfation caused by continuous operation without a full charge. The patented hybrid technology uses advanced algorithms to optimize the capacity utilization and charging cycles of both batteries over the long term.

During the charging process, the lead-acid battery is charged with priority and permanently maintained at a high state of charge. This significantly reduces the risk of sulfation while the LE300 powers the consumers. In this way, the lithium battery compensates for typical weaknesses of lead-acid technology and improves the performance and service life of the entire system. For high load peaks, both batteries can work in parallel and provide their power together.

Accordingly, it possesses numerous certifications, including the E1 mark for safe use in motor vehicles. The battery management system protects the battery through a range of safety mechanisms such as overcurrent, overvoltage, short-circuit, deep-discharge, and reverse-polarity protection.

LiFePO4 lithium cells

By using state-of-the-art LiFePo4 lithium cells, safety is the top priority. Due to their connection structure, the cells are absolutely thermally and chemically stable and do not deform in any way. They are therefore considered the safest and longest-lasting lithium cells on the market and exhibit the highest reliable cycle numbers.

The LE300 unfolds its full strength when multiple modules are combined. Additional batteries can be easily added at any time to increase the available energy reserve. This allows the system to grow with your requirements, ensuring you only invest in the capacity you truly need.

Redundant BMS systems

While a lot of effort is invested in a redundant power supply, the failure of a single battery management system in battery storage units remains a major weak point. In the BOS Smart Battery System, every LE300 module has its own integrated BMS. This means the power supply is redundantly secured through multiple backups.

The BOS hybrid system covers even the largest load peaks by supporting the lead-acid battery with the LE300, without leading to limitations or unexpected system shutdowns. In contrast, with pure lithium systems, large load peaks can be limited by the BMS by restricting the current or triggering error messages.

Winterproof down to -20°C

Thanks to an integrated cell heating system combined with a temperature sensor, the LE300 Smart Battery System can also be used in sub-zero temperatures without damage or energy loss.

For winter storage, the Smart Battery System also keeps the connected lead-acid battery fully charged for months at a time. This allows the system to be stored worry-free for the winter, without the lead-acid battery suffering irreparable damage from deep discharge.
